Wellington has been called the “coolest little capital in the world” by Lonely Planet. Below is a list of hotels in the Central Business District (CBD) -all within 20′ walking distance from the conference venue.

Wellington airport is only 8 kms from the CBD (between 15′ and 25′ depending of peak traffic -worse case scenario could be 40′ on a Friday evening). A taxi would cost you between NZ$30 – NZ$45 and you can pay with credit card (there are minimum surcharges). There are three ride sharing options available in Wellington (Uber, Zoomy and Ola) -airport pick up details are here. There is an excellent express bus service departing every 10′-20′ and takes about 20′ to reach the CBD and will cost you only NZ$12.

You can take your large sized luggage in the bus (at no extra cost).

Wellington is a very “walkable” city -only rent a car if you are planning to explore the region, otherwise it could be a problem to find parking in the city. Wellingtonians walk, take the bus, the train or the cable car (recommended as an attraction as well)

We recommend to book your accommodation as soon as possible -best rates are going fast, plus it’s summer and there could some overlap with events of the New Zealand Festival of the Arts
