“Computing for AI and Science Beyond 2030”

Abstract

This talk will explore some predictions about how computing might evolve over the next decade or more, with a particular focus on AI (e.g., generative AI and LLMs) and science use cases, from local scale to the largest scales of supercomputing. The talk will cover both technology and human aspects. Some of these predictions are grounded in exploratory work or actual projects underway, others are based on personal observations and speculations, including from a decade of providing HPC Leadership training.
