“Accelerating machine vision and computation tasks with Sparsity, Vulkan and SPIR-V

Thursday 19 February 2026

Abstract

With the rapidly changing landscape of edge computing applied to machine vision, general AI and inverse rendering we need to extract all of the capability out of the local hardware. However, relying on high-level abstractions often incurs significant overhead and limits our control over execution, creating many bottlenecks with GPU access and system interaction.

With SPIR-V parallel computation we are able to achieve close-to-metal performance on multiple platforms and operating systems. In this presentation show how we optimize compute pipelines, manage memory explicitly, leverage sparsity and ultimately deliver the low-latency, high-throughput results for a range of next-generation edge tasks.
